In late July 2025 Commonwealth Bank of Australia announced that 45 customer service roles would go because an AI voice bot had reduced call volume. The Finance Sector Union disputed the figure of roughly 2,000 fewer calls a week and said volumes had risen, with staff asked to work overtime. On 21 August 2025 the bank reversed the decision, called its original assessment an error, and offered the affected staff their roles back.
The case is smaller than Klarna and faster. It is here because the reversal turned on the Evidence cell: the number that justified the cut was the company's own, was contested by the people doing the work, and did not hold. The canvas cites it under the demo-attached cell and structure copied without preconditions.
