Nemawashi and ringi

Nemawashi is the informal groundwork of consulting everyone affected before a proposal is formally raised. Ringi is the circulated document that then collects assent. Decisions look slow from outside and execute unusually fast, because the disagreement was resolved before the decision formally existed.

Written-handbook remote cultures rediscovered this eighty years later and called it asynchronous decision-making. It sits in Coordination as the clearest alternative to synchronizing work by putting everyone in a room.
